　　时候到了，重返道馆战一场！
　　眼镜蛇道馆在全谷杯落败，道馆的师徒必须决定如何重整旗鼓，挺进空手道界的国际盛事：世界大赛。

　　故事发生在一间位于迈阿密的急症抢救中心内。马修（杰瑞米·诺森 Jeremy Northam 饰）在退役后来到了急症中心内，成为了这里新的一员。和马修一起工作的有马瑞索（拉娜·帕瑞拉 Lana Parrilla 饰）、克里斯托弗（迈克·沃格尔 Mike Vogel 饰）和赛琳娜（伊莉莎白·哈诺伊斯 Elisabeth Harnois 饰）等人。马瑞索是一个一心扑在手术室里的女强人，卡里斯托弗则和她恰恰相反，工作之余是一个作风放浪的花花公子。
　　每一天，急症室里都充斥着各种疑难杂症和突发事件，在这里，时间就等同于生命。无论这些医生们在日常生活中作风是如何的古怪，一旦穿上白大褂，他们便会化身成为手握生杀大权的天使。

本剧改编自同名小说，讲述了天久鹰央（桥本环奈 饰）是天医会综合医院统括诊断部的部长，专门破解疑难病症，甚至能从医学角度解开超自然现象之谜。她聪慧过人，却性格冷漠、难以捉摸。前外科医生小鸟游优（三浦翔平 饰）被派遣至该部门，与她搭档。擅长揣摩人心的小鸟游，与不解人情的天才鹰央形成鲜明对比，如同华生与福尔摩斯般互补。两人性格碰撞，联手破解医学谜团，揭开隐藏的真相。

　　本剧由曾执导《蓝色月光》的Glenn Gordon Caron担任制片和监制，他是一位曾获得艾美奖的金牌制片人。本剧取材于现实生活中灵媒大师Allison DuBois多年研究成果。艾美奖得主Patricia Arquette在剧中饰演一位年轻的妻子和母亲，她自孩提时代起就一直试图弄清在梦中所见的那些以死之人的事。
　　作为一名兼职顾问，Allison来到地区检察官办公室，运用其能与死者交谈以及能预知未来的超能力，协助侦破一些严重的恶性刑事案件。她与其充满神秘色彩的检察官Devalos和其他人一起共同维护本地区的治安。 Jake Weber在剧中饰演Allison的丈夫Joe，他永远是Allison最坚强的后盾。而Sofia Vassilieva与Maria Lark在剧中饰演两个最年长的孩子Ariel和Bridget。David Cubitt在剧中饰演侦探Lee Scanlon，Madison Carabello则是那个最小的孩子Marie Dubois。
　　Caron是本剧的监制和制片。担任制片的还有Kelsey Grammer、Steve Stark、Rene Echevarria以及凭借《普通人》一片获得奥斯卡奖的Ronald L. Schwary 。《灵媒辑凶》由Picturemaker Productions、Grammnet Productions以及NBC电视台联合出品。
